Abstract

This paperdescribes aminiature Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antenna which has acombinational shaped patch which looks similar to Penrosetiling. The patch is planted upon rectangular shaped flame retardant (FR4)substrate, this material being inexpensive, ideal with outstanding mechanical properties presents potential antenna andground plane is truncated into unique geometrical arrangement. High Frequency Structure Simulation v.13(HFSS) tool have been used for simulation intension of this presented antenna which has physical dimension of 24mm × 12mm× 1.6mm. Operating bandwidth of this proposed antenna is of 10.9GHz (3.37-14.27GHZ). It is observed that the model exhibited excellent gain and radiation pattern. Presently wireless system operating in microwave range uses large physical antenna. This research brings to light the use of ultra-wide band antenna for satellite communication applications using various performance improvements technique.
