Abstract

There is a brisk expansion of automobiles which is dominantly leading to enormous traffic jam. This traffic blockage causes mainly thanks to an enormous number of vehicles on the roadway. An emergency vehicle (ambulance etc..) might not be ready to advance the pathway thanks to destitute traffic light control. This project intends to contribute a convenient solution to the above dispute by alerting the traffic light before the ambulance reaches the nearby traffic light.


The proposed system makes use of the concept of IoT. The aim of this project is to attenuate delay, monitor current traffic conditions therefore the emergency vehicle can reach its destination on schedule. The ambulance unit makes use of Arduino UNO, when the most node directs, the signal is shipped to the traffic post. The traffic post receives the live location of the ambulance employing a GPS module which is stored within the cloud using the ESP8266 module with help of Wi-Fi. Once the signal is received, the traffic post­in­charger gets notified about the emergency vehicle approaching the signal and turns the signal to green this process continues in each sub node until it reaches the destination. Once the emergency vehicle is moved forward, the traffic light works in normal condition.
