SMART TROLLEY WITH SOCIAL DISTANCE MONITORING

Abstract

In metropolitan cities there are huge shopping malls that cater to different types of products under a single roof. Due to this, most of the shopping malls draw a huge number of people especially during holidays, weekends and the footfall increases tenfold during offers, discounts offered by the shopping malls. This results in a huge queue at the billing counters which is a very time consuming and tedious process.This results in the flouting of social distancing norms.

To overcome such problems, our proposed work presents a plan to build up a smart trolley framework. The designed Trolley which will be equipped with a Barcode Readers, LCD screen and a Pi cam. The entire billing and de-billing process happen in the trolley. The YOLO Algorithm is used to help the user maintain social distancing. This Algorithm trains on full pictures and promptly improves detection performance. This model has a few advantages over conventional techniques for object detection. Once the trolley approaches the billing counter the total bill will be updated in the server and the customercan pay the final amount on the website using online payment options, hence saving time, and making the process simpler. The smart trolley also helps in maintaining Social distancing in this current situation with the help of Pi camera.
