Abstract

As there are many COVID-19 positive cases increasing day by day, precautions have to be taken at the global level. The Government has put up several guidelines which have to be followed by everyone. However, some irresponsible individuals abstain from wearing masks which increases the transmission of the virus. Being ignorant towards properly wearing a mask and not concerned to boost immunity and maintaining cleanliness leads to the wild spread of pandemic and eventually causes unfortunate deaths. Even though, making a system that prevents the spread over a wide area all the time is a challenging task. In this work, a simple model based on the Internet of Things (IoT) is implemented for automated gate operation by the detection of a person wearing a mask properly on the face, with improved accuracy. In order to prevent the faster rate of transmission of virus, person’s body temperature is detected, analyzed, displayed on the LCD screenand if mask is not detected it is analyzed and reported through the mail to the source. If no rules have been followed by theindividual gate will not be opened.
