Abstract

Directly indirectly we all are part of causing Identity theft. The individuals share their personal and professional information giving chance to the intruders to exploit or misuse them for their personal benefits. The intruders can be any one from inside the organisation or  company  or  can  be  an  external  intruder. Generally, it is found that identity theft is caused by dishonest or disgruntled employees. The Identity theft beside being personal and social it can be financial, economic,   medical   etc.   also.The   paper   gives   the review  of  Identity  theft  its  type,  its  cause  and  its impact on various fronts of life.
