Performance Analysis of IC Engine Using Acetylene as an Alternative Fuel

Abstract

In this 21^st century we are facing the shortage of fossil fuel And because of the increasing cost and increasing pollution which is the biggest threat to environment, the study of alternative fuel is required.

This project is focused on idea of using acetylene gas which is renewable in nature as a primary fuel in IC engine such that it reduces the emission and smoke coming out from the exhaust. In experiment we used the acetylene gas to run the engine on different loads by using dynamometer and various parameters calculated. When compared with the neat petrol operation parameters the reduction of various exhaust gas parameters and smoke can be observed.
