Abstract

A vortex wind turbine is a device is based on the vortex shedding effect. Wind bypasses structure to form vortices causing vibration. This system is less costly as compared to the blade wind turbine. The generation of electricity from renewable sources is today's demand. This system can be used for generating electricity.  Instead of the regular wind blades, the device has a  mast.  This puts the system at a very less range of capital intensity for such projects, It is a great form of technology for harnessing the wind, which can be of great use in rural areas.
