Impact of the Architecture and Environment Relation on Crime Rates: A Case Study from Turkey

Abstract

There is a well known interdependence between the architecture and the environment. The most relevant effect on environment is
the human activity such as urbanization. But in the new cultural environment era, violence is a complex scenario. Media violence causes “mean world syndrome” and relate to the amount of television exploitable in terms of crime and urban policy in the new cultural environment. Choice of vernacular architecture instead of dense apartment blocks allows the emergence of the traditional neighbourhood spirit.
