Abstract

From decades the positions of women have been changing from being the suppressed part of the society to becoming an empowered person of it. As relevantly stated by Diane Marie’s child that “A woman is a full circle, within her is the power to create, nurture and transform”.

Throughout history women have been portrayed as different characters of the society playing a wide variety of roles including the position of deities in many ancient mythologies all over the world like Greece and India, however, the situation of women in the near past wasn’t very pleasant. In the trail of time women were subjected to a lot of torture whether it was physical or mental, beginning from the Sati-Pratha system in ancient India to the heinous crimes against them now.

As the years have passed women have been continuously fighting for their position and are performing all around and excelling in every walk-in this patriarchal society for thinking up equally, building up smart and innovating for changes. Today women are excelling in every aspect of life whether it is homebound arts or Science and Technology, with a never-ending list of exemplary women such as Valentina Tereshkova who was the first woman of the world from Russia who went in space, followed by the first Indian women Astronaut Kalpana Chawla. And the women of India like Indira Gandhi; the former prime minister and Pratibha Patil the first female president. Other inspirational women are Malala Yousafzai, Michelle Obama, Radhika Menon and many more. All these women inspired an entire decade of young, energetic girls and women around the world to claim their rights and their share of happiness amongst all so that they are no way lacking behind in any field than men.
