Abstract

Old people need monitoring. So, we will develop a system that measures the heartbeat rate and body temperature and quickly push it to the cloud. The android app will be subscribed to the data, as soon as the data is pushed it will be reported to the app the heart beat / pulse measuring sensor will be connected to esp8266, which is an ideal chip for connecting to the internet and to provide solutions in the field of internet of things. The sensor measures the patient’s flow of blood in realtime and provides an analog reading from 0V to 3.3V. The voltage is measured and converted to digital through an ADC mounted on the NodeMCU chip. This device processes the signal and obtains meaningful data such as the flowrate of the blood getting pumped by heart. The patient’s body temperature is measured in real time by a DS18B20 temperature sensor. The esp8266 obtains the data from the sensor through One wire protocol. Both the temperature and the heartbeat data are obtained once the processing is done. The temperature and pulse data are pushed to the Firebase Realtime database. Firebase is a product of Google Cloud Platform. There shall be an android app, which uses Firebase SDK to connect to the Firebase. It retrieves the data from the database and then is interpreted to the frontend through data binding. Thus, this solution helps to monitor a person’s health remotely and in real time.
