Abstract

The project is aiming to identify the area of fault in underground cable lines from the base station to correct location in kilometers utilizing a micro controller unit.The proposed framework finds the precise area of the fault.This system uses microcontroller kit,WIFI module and a rectified power supply.The current sensing circuits made with a combination of resistors are interfaces to the microcontroller unit with help of the internal ADC device for providing digital information to the microcontroller representing the cable length in kilometers. To locate a fault within the cable,the cable must be tried for faults and fault creation is made by a set of switches at each known remove between two substations.In case of fault, the voltage drops and changes appropriately,which is at that point fed to a programmed microcontroller IC that further shows on the LCD display and send the data over WIFI to a web created application.IOT is utilized to show the data over Web utilizing inbuilt Wi-Fi in ESP32 microcontroller.The data around event of fault is shown in an android application for same.Underground cable framework could be a common practice followed in urban areas.
